TS2.... It's All New. Just For You..
|
 | I am a man who needs very little help when it comes to Web Development, except for motivation.
For me, motivation comes in two forms: the 'feel' and 'hype' of the project I am working on; and the music that I listen to all day... [WinAMP 24/7]
Since I have recently acquired a small collection of Blink 182 music this add's nicely to my already existing Avril Lavigne and well-sized Hip-Hop/Rap collection of Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Tupac, D12, Dr Dre, and various other big hiphop heads.
The only thing left of course.. is the 'feel' part of the project..
This current layout of The-Spectrum I have recently codenamed: TS1 which denotes it as the original and primary The-Spectrum layout.. When it originally was created and even up to this day it served well but due to my recent October revelations and redraft of the TSN project I have created the TS2 concept..
Basically TS2 is a completely new layout and feel, with more focus on content exposure and less tedious areas such as the old useless 'ad bar'... This layout should be appreciated by all and our brilliant Photoshop [sys admin, software developer, network admin, software dev, overall 1337 h4x0r] guru PR!ME should have a working layout PHP template done up within the next week or two (mid Dec.)
This new factor of finally having a site layout based on my own-usually rare-creative idea is very exciting for me and has driven me to a new point in this The-Spectrum idea.
I have decided that no matter what people around me may think: I want a BIG site.. In this sense I am aiming at getting a huge gathering of resources on TS2 including: netGroups, Java/SIM chat rooms, SIM (our Instant Messenger), p2p filesharing system, and a large documentation repository covering: mechanical/cooking/computing tutorials; The computing tutorials will be our most comprehensive series that will cover many things from the very basics to the advanced stages of computing such as: "building your first website", "networking basics" up to setting up your own servers, using Linux, programming, web development and so forth.. I want to provide a single source for anybody to access and learn more about computing without the daunting fear of getting lost the industry jargon and technical references usually found in computer tutorials
In a nutshell TS2 will be your one-stop site where you can learn to tune your car up, tips on building your greenhouse, how to perfect your cooking of a wonderful Lamb Roast; or how to protect and secure your computer on the internet..
Unfortunately this vision comes at a cost which I have also had to consider during the past few months: Firstly and forthrightly; time.... Secondly and most important is staff
I have come to the realisation that the scale of site I have planned on building will require more than just my hands in the code stew... So in the next few weeks or so I will send out some recruitment notices around webdev/programming forums in order to 'build' up a team of people who can hopefully dedicate themselves as much as I can towards The-Spectrum...
In a team there is more motivation for individuals involved and the responsibility of being part of a 'team' and hence contributing your share of work. This factor I have thought about over many days and nights and decided a proper volunteer based dedicated team would be the best approach to getting this The-Spectrum project off the floor and shaking the cobwebs out of the now ageing site 'history'...
Thank you for visiting The-Spectrum.. If you believe you could contribute well or be a valuable asset to the new TS2 crew, or know someone who could be, please contact us via: team_recruit@the-spectrum.org and tell us about your skills and experience... NOTE: Remember we are currently a 'volunteer' only organisation and as such do not have any 'salary' based careers or employment options available..
Remember, Any ideas, input or comments/suggestions about The-Spectrum that you have should be sent to: suggestions@the-spectrum.org. I appreciate any ideas or opinions from the public arena to ensure we deliver a product that satisfies the majority of our viewers..
Sincerely..
-- Julien [The_RadiX]
